Home Care Rates Identify Which Areas Are Increasing the Most

Currently, the home care industry is experiencing increased labor costs. According to the annual Cost of Care Survey, homemaker services are facing the highest year-over-year increase for costs.
Taken from surveys in the past, care costs are proven to differ by location. In North and South Dakota, rates for a non-skilled home health aide have increased over a 5-year span of 4%.
In the past five years, the following states have experienced a 3% growth rate: California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Delaware, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Wyoming. Also, the following states have experienced a growth rate of 0% throughout a 5-year span: Hawaii, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Nevada. Last, North Carolina’s rates have gone down to an impressive -1%.
