Janice E. Potts
Director of Consulting Services
Jan has over 25 year of progressive management experience in organizations providing home care, hospice and home infusion therapy services. She has held leadership roles with freestanding agencies, multi-site companies and integrated delivery systems in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors. Jan has provided leadership at the Vice President/Chief Operating Officer level for the past 17 years. Her main focus and expertise is in improving operational performance and regulatory compliance as well as strategic positioning for companies providing multiple product lines.
Jan earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Business Administration. In an early management role, she served as Director of Quality Assurance and then as Regional Director of Operations for a proprietary national multi-site home care company with home health, private duty, home infusion therapy and home medical equipment product lines. From there, she has served in the role of Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the home care division of a large integrated health care delivery system in the Northwest and a prestigious academic medical center in the Midwest. She was responsible for home care, hospice, private duty, home infusion therapy and durable medical equipment. Her accomplishments have included improving profitability, implementing large scale operational restructuring, improving regulatory compliance, implementing a new home care information system, negotiating insurance contracts, developing a statewide network for infusion therapy and working closely with the organizations' governing boards. Jan has spoken nationally on the Medicare Prospective Payment System, HIPAA, Medicare Survey and Certification and utilization of decision support tools to analyze performance.
Jan demonstrates a unique ability to bring the clinical, operations and financial aspects of the business together to achieve success. Her skill set includes an excellent ability to assess and analyze organizational performance. She thinks strategically and can develop and execute comprehensive operating plans to grow product lines, improve operations and financial performance and address regulatory compliance issues. She has strong communications skills and effectively facilitates teams to achieve organizational goals.
