Late September, CMS posted for public inspection at the Office of the Federal Register “Medicare Program: FY2016 Hospice Wage Index and Payment Rate Update and Hospice Quality Reporting Requirements; Correction.” This notice makes minor changes to the final FY2016 Hospice payment rule that was published on August 6. The most important of the corrections relates to a data element in Table 25 on page 47182 (FY2016 Hospice Payment Rates for CHC, IRC, and GIP for Hospices that DO NOT Submit the Required Quality Data). CMS published an hourly rate of $38.67 for Continuous Home Care (CHC), but the correct rate is $38.59. CMS also corrected references to tables on pages 47203 and 47205; a reference on 47203 to Table H1 should have read “Table 29,” while a reference on page 47205 that read “Table H2” should have read “Table 30.” Click here to read more.
