Hospice Vulnerabilities: Comprehensive Updates & Suggestions – A NAHC Live Web Event Presented By Corridor Experts

NAHC will host a live Web event presented by Corridor experts on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 1 p.m. Eastern that will explore hospice vulnerabilities and provide guidance on how hospices can assess risk and tailor its practice to achieve full compliance. Registration for NAHC members is available at reduced rates. Additionally, attendees can choose to participate live or purchase access to a program recording for viewing at a later date. Nursing CEs will be offered. The following is additional information about the forthcoming program: HOSPICE VULNERABILITIES: COMPREHENSIVE UPDATES AND SUGGESTIONS All hospices are vulnerable to payment take backs/repayments and Department of Justice sanctions.  Various oversight and regulatory bodies are gathering and analyzing hospice data from claims, cost reports, aggregate cap reports, studies, investigations, and surveys.  CMS is circling ‘relatedness’ in hospices.  This educational web event will help hospices to identify the key areas of vulnerability that are rising to the top.  The session will help hospices to identify specific areas of risk and discuss ways to address them.  The session will provide a comprehensive overview of key hospice vulnerabilities, how a hospice can assess its own compliance with these areas, and discuss common practices that are of concern, along with tips for operating in full compliance. Program Objectives:

  • Overview of key hospice vulnerabilities
  • Suggestions for internal assessment of a hospice’s performance and practices in these areas
  • Discussion of practices that widen areas of vulnerability and how to narrow these
  • Suggest ways a hospice can strategically balance daily operations to stay out of the gray areas
