Industry insiders believe that the newly approved rule by policymakers that calls for expanding access to telehealth services through Medicare Advantage (MA) plans would be a huge boom to home health providers and technology vendors.
Currently, CMS only allows telehealth reimbursement in rural areas. Under a proposed rule, CMS would allow MA plans to offer more flexibility to offer government-funded telehealth benefits to all enrollees. It also would allow MA enrollees to receive telehealth services from home rather than a clinic.
