CMS Issues iQIES Log to Assist Providers

CMS recently released an Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (iQIES) issues log to help providers to know what processing issues exist and the status of resolution. CMS developed the log when providers began experiencing multiple problems with OASIS submission through the iQIES in the January transition.

CMS is asking home health agencies  to report any issues they encounter to the helpdesk at help@qtso.com so they can be tracked and added to the issues log. 

“NAHC spoke with CMS recently about the iQIES problems and concerns regarding meeting the 30-day OASIS submission time frame if the corrections were not made soon.  CMS stressed that it does not intend to penalize providers for not meeting requirements when there are technology issues out of the provider’s control. CMS will be speaking with the Regional Offices and advising them to notify the survey agencies to take into consideration this transition period, and look for evidence that the HHA registered/attempted registration for iQIES timely and attempted submission of the OASIS timely but it was not received due to iQIES transition issues.”
